Newport, TN - Consolidated Utilities District here in Murfreesboro sent a team to East Tennessee to help with Hurrican Helene damage. They completed their work Saturday afternoon and fully restored all of the water distribution lines. 

The local team worked hard, long-days and got the job completed. 

The CUD sokesperson noted, "I can't leave out the team back home who kept the water flowing locally. Great job not only for Newport, but also the CUD maintenance teams."

He concluded, "Thanks Newport for the hospitality, the delicious meals, and most of all for trusting CUD to help maintain and repair your water mains." 

Not only does Tennessee live by the reputation it earned during the days of the Alamo as "Volunteer State", but also with the feeling Rutherford County continues to exube--"the Heart of Tennessee". Of course, the fact that we are in the geographic center of the state might give it double meaning.
