MURFREESBORO, Tenn - UPDATE: Murfreesboro Police detectives believe that 15-year-old Sariya Whitney may not be in immediate danger after receiving a tip that she was recently seen with a family member. However, this information has not yet been confirmed, and detectives are continuing to follow up on all leads, according to MPD on Thursday.
Whitney was reported missing by her grandmother in September and was last seen in the Turfland Drive area near South Rutherford Boulevard and Kensington Drive. She disappeared after going for a run with other neighborhood children and has not been seen for over 10 days.
Authorities previously entered Whitney into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as a missing child and still urge anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact Detective Reyes at 629-201-5595.
