Murfreesboro, TN - It was standing room only around the Historic Murfreesboro Square from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Halloween afternoon (10/31/2024). Main Street Murfreesboro once again sponsored its annual Trick or Treating event with uptown retailers, lawyers, government buildings, and more. However, this year’s event seems to have gone on steroids!
Main Street's Executive Director Sarah Callender said this was their largest Halloween turnout . . .
Thanks to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the square was closed to traffic, making the event safe for all ages. Indeed, it appeared that several thousand people converged onto the square to take advantage of this ever-growing local attraction. Statistics show that it’s safer to trick or treat in groups and have plenty of adults to ensure that no one tries any shenanigans. Main Street Murfreesboro certainly had our backs.
The weather was partly cloudy with temperatures around 73 degrees, but then the wind picked up, the mercury dropped, and some moisture in the air sent some spooks scrambling. Despite the weather changes, the event was a huge success, providing a safe and fun way to enjoy Halloween—and it was free!
Kudos to Main Street Murfreesboro for such a fantastic event and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
