The Swaim Center DUI School may relocate in the future. The school is currently in Smyrna and reports indicate the center may move to the Buchanan area. The school is an alternative for DUI offenders facing jail time. If convicted of a DUI, the courts will often agree to a short stay at the DUI school as opposed to jail.

A decision to relocate the Swaim Center has been put on hold until August while the school proprietor searches for a piece of land suitable for a move. In August, the Rutherford County Board of Zoning Appeals will consider a proposed move.
