USA - Las Vegas isn’t the only “Sin City” in America. In other cities, bad things happen and stay there, too. In fact, WalletHub’s list includes four Tennessee cities.
In fact, one made it to the top 15. The “Bluff City” of Memphis holds the #15 slot. Memphis also topped the list as the having the most violent crimes per capita. They also tied with 4 other cities as having the most thefts per capita. Those other four include Tacoma, WA; St. Louis, MO; Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT.
Wallethub Analyst Chip Lupo said, “Regardless of any particular religious tenets, certain activities are considered ‘sinful’ by society as a whole. Sometimes, these activities are always bad, like violent crimes or identity theft. In other cases, they may be relatively harmless in moderation but incredibly destructive when not kept under control, such as alcohol use or gambling. The most sinful cities are those where illicit activities and vices alike are the most widespread.”
Nashville showed-up as #28, Knoxville wasn’t far away at #31 and Chattanooga was #66.
There was a total of 182 U.S. cities listed in the WalletHub study.
