Smyrna, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol had to shut-down all west bound lanes of I-24 (going towards Nashville) due to a serious crash at the 70.6-mile marker, near the Almaville Road exit. Basically, that's from the I-840 exit all the way to Smyrna.
TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation) reports that at 3:26AM, early Sunday morning (12/1/2024), a vehicle overturned and blocked the interstate.
Westbound I-24 was reopened almost five and a half hours later (9:00AM). Prior to that traffic was being diverted onto I-24.
WGNS will let you know as more information is available.
