MURFREESBORO - A fatal three-car crash on NW Broad Street near the I-840 interchange claimed the life of one person Wednesday afternoon, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT).
The crash occurred around 1 p.m. and resulted in the closure of outbound lanes as emergency responders worked the scene and launched an investigation. Initially, traffic was diverted back toward the city and onto Thompson Lane to manage the heavy congestion.
By late afternoon, police confirmed that all lanes of NW Broad Street had been reopened, though the crash remains under active investigation.
