MURFREESBORO - Progress continues on the highly anticipated Buc-ee’s travel center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with construction updates pointing to significant milestones ahead. The Elam Road relocation, critical for supporting the site’s development and traffic management, is nearing completion. This includes laying asphalt and concrete to finalize the road realignment. Work on the Buc-ee’s site itself will resume in earnest once this phase is done.

Additionally, infrastructure improvements related to the project are advancing. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has scheduled lighting upgrades for the Joe B. Jackson Parkway Interchange in March 2025, while the ramp enhancements contracted by Buc-ee’s are set to begin around the same time, with completion projected for March 2026.

The Murfreesboro City Council has also worked on ensuring the readiness of associated public projects, such as the Butler Drive realignment, expected to be completed by early 2025. This redesign will improve traffic flow near the Buc-ee’s location by introducing a signalized intersection, enhancing access to nearby industrial areas.

As construction proceeds, the Buc-ee’s location will bring one of the chain’s signature travel centers, complete with its famous expansive fuel stations, clean restrooms, and unique merchandise offerings, to the Murfreesboro community.
