Brian Guthrie, head football coach at Rockvale High School, has announced his retirement. He decided to hang up his whistle after a 30-year coaching career.

While stepping down as head coach, Guthrie will remain at Rockvale working as the school’s graduation coach and will also be taking on a role with athletics and helping AD and Assistant Principal Jason Crutchfield.

While Guthrie has been the head coach since 2022, he also served two years as an assistant starting when the school opened in 2019. He also spent a decade and a half at Siegel and was at La Vergne before that.

This season, the Rockets finished with a 2-8 record and went 1-4 in Region 3-6A play.

The search for the next head football coach at Rockvale is underway.
