Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Unidentified Man in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN - An unidentified man was killed Sunday night at 9 p.m. in a single-vehicle fiery crash in the 1700 block of Lebanon Pike (HWY 70) in Nashville. Authorities are hoping to identify the man as soon as possible.

The preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling east on Lebanon Pike at a high rate of speed when the vehicle failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway and struck a utility pole prior to colliding with a tree. The pickup became engulfed in flames. Another motorist witnessed the crash and called 911. NFD personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the driver of the Silverado.
