UPDATE: NO CHARGES FILED - We have an update to the news story regarding an alleged confrontation at a Walmart store in Murfreesboro. Now, the search for the individuals involved has concluded. Public Information Officer Larry Flowers informed WGNS News just before 8 o'clock on Wednesday night, “The three persons of interest have been identified and interviewed by Detective Stalnaker. No charges were filed.”
Initially, the Murfreesboro Police Department was seeking public assistance to identify three men involved in an altercation at the S. Rutherford Boulevard Walmart on December 3. The incident began in the parking lot, where one of the suspects allegedly threatened a couple with a knife, as released by the MPD. Authorities reported the situation escalated inside the store, leading to a physical confrontation, during which threats involving the knife were reportedly made again.
Although the current investigation has concluded with the identification of the individuals, portions of the community likely remain concerned about safety as few details on why the case came to an abrupt close were released.

The victims, a couple shopping at the store, reported the encounter that began in the parking lot when one of the suspects allegedly threatened them with a knife. The tension escalated as the confrontation moved inside the store, where the couple faced the men a second time, resulting in a physical altercation. Reports indicate that threats were again made involving the knife during this encounter.
The assailants reportedly fled the scene in a newer model gray Nissan Altima. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to step forward.
