Murfreesboro, TN - The Murfreesboro Police Department reported the arrest of Burrel “Chip” Davis just before 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at an apartment complex in Murfreesboro. Davis was taken into custody on a warrant for aggravated stalking after allegedly violating an order of protection. Earlier this month, Davis was decertified following a recommendation from the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST). This recommendation was related to a 2023 sex scandal that rocked the La Vergne Police Department, resulting in the firing of five officers.

Davis has claimed he was not involved in the scandal and sued the city of La Vergne for reinstatement and back pay earlier this year.
