Wed. (Jan. 1, 2025) 10:00AM The Murfreesboro's New Year’s Day 5K at Barfield Crescent Park. This is a family-friendly race and is open to runners, walkers, joggers, adults, teens and children and is presented by the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department. It is electronically timed, and every finisher receives a medal. All registrants also receive a souvenir shirt. There will be an Overall and Age Group winners for Male and Female. The cost to register is $30. “The New Year’s Day 5K has become a fantastic way for the community to kick off the year right by getting outside and moving,” stated Nate Williams, Executive Director of Recreation Services. “This event is continuing to grow, and we are expecting another great turnout this year.” The New Year’s Day 5K is limited to 500 runners.
