Murfreesboro, TN - A tree fell on Vine Street power lines around 8:30AM Sunday morning (12/29/2024), and a large area of Middle Tennessee Electric customers in the historic district were "dark".
When a power outage occurs, MTE's engineering operation teams work to restore power as as quickly as possible. The co-operative's priority is restore power to hospitals, police departments, fire stations, and public health and safety facilities.
Crews quickly evaluated the situation, and Middle Tennessee Electric operators coordinated with field crews to provide customers with a frame for power restoration.
The public is encouraged to phone MTE and report outages online or by calling (877) 777-9020. Customers can also sign up for myMTE text alerts to receive updates about outages and restoration.
Electricity was restored within a half-hour.
