RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Secret Santa and Mrs. Claus provided cash for Rutherford County Sheriff’s patrol deputies to distribute $100 to individuals they encountered while on duty. The initiative aimed to surprise and uplift the community during Christmas festivities.

Deputy Sydney Segroves had the pleasure of giving $100 to a pregnant mother and her 3-year-old daughter. "I believe they could have used the money for both the 3-year-old girl and the unborn child," Segroves remarked. "Coming from a young family myself, I know it can be expensive to buy children’s items such as clothes, diapers, and formula. The little girl can always use some extra money to have a great Christmas."

Meanwhile, Deputy Anna Olson was patrolling when she noticed a family pulled over on the side of the road because their 5-year-old daughter was car sick. “The parents were doing DoorDash orders to make extra money for the holidays, so I gave the $100 to the little girl and the family,” Olson explained.

Deputy Ryan Keach encountered another opportunity to spread joy at Lowe’s gas station on Epps Mill Road. Keach shared: “The husband walked out and approached the car. I asked him if he would like some extra cash during the holidays. He gave me a confused look. I handed him the $100 and the couple got excited.” After giving the kids some stickers, he continued on his way.

Keach also volunteered to deliver two additional cash donations from Santa and Mrs. Claus. He gave $100 to two men working at Circle K on John Bragg Highway, who were thrilled to receive the unexpected gift. "They split the $100 and were very excited to receive the cash. They couldn’t believe it,” said Keach.

His final donation of the day went to a cashier at B&W Market on John Bragg Highway. "This lady has a sweet heart," Keach noted. “She was very thankful to receive the cash."

Thanks to Secret Santa and Mrs. Claus, the deputies of Rutherford County were able to spread the true spirit of Christmas, bringing joy and making a difference in the lives of those they encountered.
