SMYRNA, TN - Fundraising efforts continue as over 150 students from the Stewarts Creek High School Band prepare to perform at the 60th Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C., on January 20. The biggest challenge is raising $120-thousand to pay for the trip to Washington. On Thursday night, the band moved one step closer to their goal after Budget & Finance Committee Member Craig Harris proposed the county give $7,500 to the high school to help fund the upcoming trip… Robert Peay, Chairman of the Budget & Finance Committee, moved forward with the vote… Commissioners overwhelmingly supported the $7,500 donation to help fund the student band trip to DC.
