The Street Department is actively plowing and salting State Routes and major thoroughfares, working in two 12-hour shifts until roads are clear. They provide ice and snow removal on State Routes within City limits under contract to TDOT, as well as City streets. If motorists see hazardous street conditions, call 615-893-4380. Subdivision streets are typically not salted or plowed due to limited resources, focusing on primary thoroughfares.
