RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - A driver narrowly escaped injury after slipping off Woodfin Road near Christiana due to thick ice on Sunday night, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Benji Soto reported that the driver was unharmed, and the vehicle did not sustain any damage.
"We had the tow trucks pull it out, and he drove off," Deputy Soto stated. He further warned drivers about the hazardous conditions, saying, "The back roads where the sun didn’t hit are thick with ice."
With icy conditions expected to persist during the winter months, authorities are urging drivers to exercise extra caution, especially while driving at night when visibility can be reduced and ice may be more prevalent on the roads.
As the community continues to navigate the challenging winter weather, local officials remind everyone to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety while on the road.
