WASHINGTON, D.C. – After overcoming significant challenges, the Stewarts Creek High School Band proudly performed in the Inaugural Parade for President Donald Trump.
The band took the stage just after 5 p.m. Smyrna time on Monday at Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C., playing a patriotic medley that included "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" and "You're a Grand Old Flag."

Their journey to this moment was not without hurdles. The school faced the daunting task of raising $120,000 to fund the trip. Thanks to an eleventh-hour $40,000 donation from Tractor Supply Company, the band met its goal. However, just as they were preparing to depart, they were informed on Friday night that the parade would be moved indoors, and their performance was canceled—a major disappointment.
Despite this setback, the band decided to proceed with the trip, as most of the funds were non-refundable. Their perseverance paid off when, late Sunday night, they received the thrilling news that they would indeed get to perform during the parade. Fortunately, they had brought their instruments, hopeful for an opportunity to showcase their talents in Washington.
Dr. Clark Harrell, principal of Stewarts Creek High School, delivered the exciting announcement to the students, who erupted in cheers upon hearing the news:
The band's performance marked a triumphant conclusion to their journey, showcasing their dedication and resilience. Congratulations to the Stewarts Creek High School Band for representing their school and community with pride and class.
