Murfreesboro, TN - With temps around the freezing point Thursday night (1/24/2025), cold weather fires continue to plague area homes and businesses. Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue rushed to Motel 6 on Chaffin Lane, next to the Cracker Barrel. When the first responder rolled onto the scene, a large dumpster blazing like an inferno.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures and cars. There were no injuries or property damage reported beyond the dumpster.
Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department reminds residents to properly dispose of combustible materials and remain vigilant to prevent fires in outdoor areas. Also, always have a fire escape plan, along with a designated location to meet those with you. That way you have instant knowledge that everyone escaped safely from the fire.
