ANTIOCH, TN - Following last week's tragic murder-suicide at Antioch High School, a new, yet less violent, incident has emerged. This time, the situation unfolded online, involving a student who allegedly made threats against school administration.
Community Crimes Unit detectives arrested a teenager in a separate case for issuing an electronic threat against the principal of Antioch High School.
The investigation began Saturday and culminated in the arrest of a 17-year-old girl. Authorities allege she posted a threat against the school principal on Instagram. The student has been charged in Juvenile Court with communicating a threat to a school official.
Metro Nashville Police emphasized that threats against schools, administrators, and community institutions are treated with utmost seriousness. Officials noted that those responsible for such acts will be identified and prosecuted.
