NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced emergency pavement repairs on Interstate 24 in Rutherford County, leading to lane and ramp closures near Sam Ridley Parkway (State Route 266) in Smyrna.
The work is underway now, with crews focusing on repairing potholes and asphalt damage caused by the recent extreme freeze/thaw cycle from winter storms.
Closure Details:
- Tuesday, January 28: I-24 East will be reduced to two lanes between mile markers 66 and 68 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. The I-24 East on-ramp from SR 266 will also be closed.
- Wednesday, January 29, and Thursday, January 30: Repairs will continue during the same timeframe, from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible. TDOT urges drivers to exercise caution in the work zone to ensure the safety of both workers and travelers.
