Clarence Davis II, 35

ANTIOCH, TN - Antioch High School, which is about 2 miles northwest of LaVergne, made national headlines last week after a student brought a gun to school and shot two other students, tragically killing a 16-year-old girl before turning the gun on himself. The following Monday, WGNS learned that a student from Antioch High School was arrested for allegedly making online threats against the school principal. Now, Metro Police have confirmed the arrest of an Antioch High School campus support employee who was charged with soliciting a 14-year-old student.

The now-former worker, who was suspended earlier this month, was not only a staff member but also an assistant basketball coach at the school. Clarence Davis II was arrested by Metro Police Violent Crimes detectives Monday night on 19 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor (solicitation) and 1 count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

35-year-old Davis is the subject of a Metro Police Youth Services investigation that began on January 14 after a school resource officer at Antioch received information that Davis was having inappropriate Instagram communication with a 14-year-old female. During the investigation, detectives determined the female was a student at the school. Police say that all the charges against Davis relate to the one victim and his continued sexually related comments toward her.

Reports indicate the school system immediately suspended Davis after being informed of the investigation. A judicial commissioner set bond for Davis at $192,500. As of Tuesday afternoon, Davis remains behind bars.
