Cripple Creek Cloggers originated with the Kittrell School 4-H Square Dancers in 1967.  They perform traditional square dancing with a clogging step, originating in the Appalachian Mountain area.

Cripple Creek Cloggers are hosts of the International Folkfest, to be held this year during June 8-15.  They helped to organize this event in 1982. Information about the schedule and visiting troupes is at www.mboro-international-folkfest.org.  Rob Pearcy and The Slim Chance Band will also perform during International Folkfest.

The local dance troupe will represent the U.S. in the Festival "Celestino Graca" in Santarem, Portugal, near Lisbon, during August 29 through Sept. 8. This is a return visit; they first participated there in 1981. Five international troupes have been invited, along with eight Portuguese troupes.
