On Monday, the White House budget office announced a pause on federal grants and loans, potentially impacting programs for millions of Americans, especially low-income families. However, a federal judge in Washington DC temporarily blocked the pause of federal aid spending.

The Trump administration says a sweeping pause in federal grants and loans was necessary to ensure that federal related spending complies with the president's executive orders. But again, a federal judge has since put a temporary stay on the directive from the Trump administration. The ruling means that programs funded by Congress cannot be interrupted at this time and the stay will be effective until this coming Monday at 5 PM.
