Alvin C. York VA Campus Adjusts Operations Amid Winter Weather Advisory

THURSDAY UPDATE: All VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System locations will resume normal operations and schedules starting Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.

Veterans who are unable to attend, wish to convert their appointment to VA Video Connect, or reschedule should contact their provider on My HealtheVet.

PREVIOUS: MURFREESBORO, TN - Due to anticipated winter weather conditions, the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System announced that several locations, including the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, will delay their opening hours to 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. This move is part of the facility's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of veterans and staff amid adverse weather conditions. The Rutherford County area could receive 1 to 2 inches of snow.

The Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, known for its comprehensive care for veterans, will remain operational for emergent and urgent cases through its urgent care services, providing essential healthcare support despite the weather. Veterans seeking non-emergency care or appointments scheduled prior to 10 a.m. will have their appointments rescheduled or converted to VA Video Connect (VVC) for telehealth services, allowing them to receive care from the safety of their homes.

Other facilities affected by the delayed opening include the Nashville VA Medical Center and various community clinics, such as the Bowling Green and Clarksville VA Clinics, among others. The Athens, Chattanooga, Pointe Centre, and Roane County VA Clinics will continue to operate on their regular schedules.

Veterans who may need to reschedule appointments or wish to switch to a VVC appointment can easily do so by contacting their providers through the My HealtheVet system. The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System remains committed to providing high-quality care while prioritizing veteran safety during inclement weather.

Due to the anticipated winter weather, the following VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System locations will open at 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025:
