RUTHERFORD COUNTY - Inclement weather has forced adjustments to several district high school basketball tournaments, but the action remains intense as teams battle for championships and postseason berths.
District 8-4A: Riverdale and Oakland Secure Key Wins
At Rockvale, the District 8-4A tournament saw thrilling games that set the stage for the semifinals. In the girls' bracket, Riverdale edged out Siegel in a nail-biting 37-34 victory, despite Siegel leading most of the way. Riverdale now advances to face Blackman in the semifinals.
On the boys' side, Oakland pulled off a hard-fought 61-58 win over Riverdale in a 4-5 matchup. Riverdale led most of the way, but Oakland surged late to steal the victory. The boys' semifinals are set for Friday, with Blackman facing Oakland at 6 p.m., followed by Rockvale vs. Siegel at 7:30 p.m. The girls’ semifinals will take place on Saturday, with Blackman vs. Riverdale at 1 p.m. and Rockvale vs. Oakland at 2:30 p.m.
District 7-4A: Action Resumes at Lebanon High School
District 7-4A, featuring Smyrna, Stewarts Creek, and LaVergne, will hold its first round at Lebanon High School. Friday’s schedule includes:

Eagleville’s girls, after falling 57-26 to Moore County, will battle Huntland in the consolation game. Fayetteville advanced with a 64-58 win over Huntland.
Division II-A: PCA Looks to Advance
In the Middle Region tournament, PCA’s girls will take on FRA at 4 p.m. on Friday at Nashville Christian. The PCA boys will follow with an 8:30 p.m. matchup against Webb, with the winners moving on to the championship game.
District 8-3A: Central Magnet Girls Continue Quest
Central Magnet’s girls will resume their tournament run on Friday against Franklin County at 7 p.m. A win would secure a spot in the championship game, while a loss would send them to the consolation round. The Central Magnet boys have already concluded their season.
