“Investigators on scene determined Taliek Gallishaw-King fled the scene in an unknown vehicle shortly before law enforcement’s arrival and took the handgun used in the shooting with him,” Gammel said.

Gallishaw-King is being held on a $60,000 bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. His court date is set for May 22 in General Sessions Court. Investigators reported that additional charges are pending in another county.

The teen was a leading player for Smyrna High School, where he played on the boys' varsity team. Gallishaw-King, who wore the number 11 jersey, was a small forward and shooting guard for the Bulldogs during his senior year.

Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh and the Sheriff’s Office expressed their gratitude to residents for their assistance in apprehending Gallishaw-King. Special thanks were also given to the United States Marshal Service, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Metropolitan Nashville Police, Smyrna Police, and the Murfreesboro Police Department for their resources and personnel in making the arrest.
