Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr interacts with the public on community issues: 

• Middle Point Landfill will be full within 4-years
• Republic Services wants to purchase the county's closed and adjacent 286 acre landfill
• How much would taxpayers PAY in "tipping fees" if we did not have a landfill
• County's TRANSFER STATION to open before July 1, 2025 (it is near Middle Point)
• Murfreesboro is building a TRANSFER STATION off Joe B. Jackson Pkway
• People in this community will not "RE-CYCLING" as long as Republic Services is in charge
• Republic Services made a pledge to pay County an increase in tipping fees from current $1.20/ton to $2.50/ton. Mayor Carr said they had not paid an increase for 30-years, and this was an insult. The "inflation index" has increase 500%. That would be around $7.50/ton
