SMYRNA, TN - The Smyrna Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying an individual captured on surveillance camera following a break-in at the Traditions Senior Living Center on February 28, 2025. According to police reports, the suspect allegedly entered one of the apartments, where a resident awoke to find a male standing in her living room. Upon confrontation, the intruder quickly fled through the patio door.
Security cameras recorded the suspect emerging from the wooded area between the apartment complex and Stonecrest Hospital just after the incident. The footage shows him trying various patio door handles before disappearing from view. Minutes later, he was seen running away from the vicinity of the victim's apartment.
The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocked hair, wearing a puffy green and blue jacket over a yellow hoodie. He also had on pajama pants, white socks, and possibly black slippers or Crocs. Although the yellow hoodie obscured his face during much of the recording, it was down when he fled, revealing shorter dreadlocks.
