The novel, a modern cozy mystery, follows the quirky adventures of 62-year-old retired teacher Annie Cooper. After making an impulsive decision to move to Monteagle, Annie takes on a series of odd jobs to manage her insurance costs, unwittingly stumbling upon a mystery and adding some spice to her days with humorous daydreams about the men she encounters. Early reviews on Amazon and Goodreads hail the book as a fast-paced and entertaining read.

Riner's path to authorship began with writing features for publications such as The Sewanee Mountain Messenger and The Grundy County Herald. Now, she is making waves with her debut novel, which has been selected for the Methodist Sunday School Assembly’s 2025 Summer Program. Fans will be delighted to know that the second installment of the Odd Job Annie series is slated for release in February 2026, and Riner is already hard at work on the third.
