Land once designated for the Notes Live project on Medical Center Parkway near the Stones River is now back on the market for potential investors. WGNS asked Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland if any developers have since submitted proposals for the vacant land… The Notes Live project was a proposed entertainment venue featuring an indoor/outdoor concert hall and restaurant in Murfreesboro. However, the project failed to move forward primarily due to the developer's requested changes and missed deadlines. Additionally, city council members expressed concerns that the proposed modifications would further exacerbate traffic congestion near a hospital and fire station.
As a result, the city reclaimed the 20-acre site and is now open to new proposals and future development opportunities.
670 Feet across the street from the defunct Notes Live project is the future Atrium at the Fountains, an upscale residential condominium community... Mayor McFarland highlighted how increased labor and material costs have impacted various developments far and wide… The Fountains business park is already a bustling destination for shoppers, diners, and businesses, and the addition of future residential spaces is expected to further boost its popularity.
It's no surprise that developers remain interested in Medical Center Parkway, as it serves as one of Murfreesboro's primary thoroughfares. In 2021, data from the Tennessee Department of Transportation showed that nearly 32,000 vehicles traveled the roadway daily.
To accommodate this growth, the city has been expanding Medical Center Parkway in phases over the past three years. The ongoing project aims to widen the road from four lanes to six lanes between I-24 and NW Broad Street.
