MURFREESBORO - The Murfreesboro community is mourning the loss of Norman "Jeff" Sowell, who ran along with the family the popular Jeff’s Family Restaurant. He passed away on Sunday, March 16th from congestive heart failure at age 63. Sowell was widely known as a talented chef, a dedicated business owner, and a beloved friend to many.
Jeff’s Family Restaurant, has been a staple in the community for years, offering home-cooked Southern meals and a welcoming atmosphere that made it a favorite for locals and visitors alike. His passing has left a deep void among those who frequented the restaurant and in the hearts of his family, friends, and patrons.
Many in the community have expressed their sorrow, remembering Sowell as not just a restaurant owner but also a mentor and friend. “Jeff wasn’t just a great chef; he was an even better person,” said longtime customer Robert Jenkins. “He made everyone feel like family when they walked through those doors.”
Funeral arrangements are still being finalized by Scales and Sons Funeral Home.
As Murfreesboro grieves this significant loss, the legacy of Jeff Sowell will undoubtedly live on in the countless lives he touched and through the restaurant that became a cornerstone of the community.
