MURFREESBORO, TN - Are your craft drawers overflowing with supplies you no longer need? Or perhaps you’ve been eyeing a new creative hobby but aren’t sure where to start? The Craft Supply Swap at the Technology Engagement Center (TEC) in Murfreesboro is the perfect opportunity to refresh your artistic arsenal—without spending a dime! Kathleen Tyree, Manager of the Technology Engagement Center, stated…
Mark your calendars… Again, the actual swap is set for April 6th, when the TEC will transform into a treasure trove of paints, fabrics, beads, brushes, and who knows?! This unique event invites local crafters to swap out unused materials and discover fresh supplies to spark their creativity. Whether it’s yarn from an abandoned knitting project, stamps you never quite mastered, or an easel gathering dust, someone else may be eager to put it to good use.
How It Works:
- Drop Off Supplies – Bring your gently used craft supplies to the TEC (306 Minerva Dr.) between March 31st and April 4th.
- Receive a Swap Ticket – For every item you donate, you’ll get a ticket to “shop.”
- It’s a real life Swap & Shop – On April 6th:
- 1:00-2:00 PM: Exclusive swap hour for those with tickets.
- 2:00-3:00 PM: Open browsing for anyone, even if you didn’t donate supplies.
Any unclaimed items will be donated, ensuring nothing goes to waste!
Library officials at the TEC say this event is more than just a swap—it’s a chance to upcycle, recycle, declutter, and explore new creative possibilities. So gather those unused supplies and get ready to trade for something new. Who knows? Your next masterpiece might begin with someone else’s forgotten project!
