Mayor McFarland was appreciative of the developer building a connective 3-lane roadway behind Trader Joe's that connects Robert Rose Dr., and goes behind the new grocery store to connect with the first 5-lane entrance to The Avenue of Murfreesboro.  

Trader Joe’s reports that they take a distinctive approach to grocery retail. Their buyers travel the world in search of exceptional products, carefully selecting only those that pass a rigorous tasting panel process. The company prides itself on offering high-quality, value-driven products without sales, coupons, or loyalty programs—focusing instead on everyday low prices, according to the company website.

They are interviewing future employees now for the Murfreesboro location at 2305 Medical Center Parkway. Trader Joe’s will be hiring 65 or more employees at $14 to $17 per hour.

The store was founded in 1967 in Pasadena, California and operates a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores. Trader Joe’s is known to offer a wide variety of specialty foods, organic produce, frozen favorites, and international flavors.
