NASHVILLE, TN – A 22-year-old from Wilson County found himself in handcuffs after what could only be described as an ill-advised stunt show on the streets of Nashville. Jaylin Binnion is out on a $3,000 bond today after Metro Police say he was part of a group performing dangerous driving maneuvers on ATVs and dirt bikes in North and West Nashville late Friday night.
Authorities say Binnion was among roughly 25 thrill-seekers popping wheelies and tearing up the roads. Unfortunately for them, the Metro Nashville Police Department’s aviation unit had a front-row seat to the action. The airborne officers tracked the group to Charlotte Pike, where the chaos reached new levels—some riders apparently took things a bit too far, colliding with each other and tumbling to the pavement.
As officers moved in, Binnion attempted to add one last trick to his act—escaping on foot. However, law enforcement proved to be the better sprinter. He was quickly apprehended while the rest of his stunt crew fled down Charlotte Pike.
Binnion now faces felony and misdemeanor charges for evading arrest, along with reckless driving. While the rest of the group may have slipped away, authorities made it clear they have their eyes on reckless riders who mistake city streets for stunt courses.
On a side note, the rider who was captured in Music City calls Watertown home, which is about 20-minutes from Lascassas and over the Rutherford County line in nearby Wilson County. The most recent population count shows the town has grown by 1.65% annually. Today,
Watertown has 1,658 residents.
