MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – A day of unique entertainment is set to unfold at the historic Oaklands with an event combining local celebrity appearances, competitive spirit, and literary-inspired inflatable horse races. The inaugural event will benefit The Rutherford County Library Foundation.

Under the shade of Oaklands’ historic trees, sponsors will participate in the inflatable horse races, with dice rolls determining which contender advances. Spectators can expect an engaging competition as well-known local figures guide the race results.

Between races, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy food and beverages from local food trucks, available for separate purchase. Event stalls will provide a chance to meet the participating riders and their inflatable mounts. Live music will be performed between races to maintain an energetic atmosphere.

Admission includes raffle tickets, allowing attendees to support their chosen sponsor and horse team. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase, with all proceeds directed to the Foundation. Raffle winners will be drawn from among supporters of the top three horses, with prizes donated by contributors to the Foundation.

A themed attire contest will also be part of the festivities. Participants are encouraged to dress in race-day fashion, whether opting for elegant hats or classic seersucker suits. A prize will be awarded to the crowd’s favorite outfit. The event will take place rain or shine, with participants encouraged to bring appropriate footwear and umbrellas if necessary.

Tickets for the event are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children, with a family four-pack (two adults and two children) available for $50. Additional details and ticket purchases can be found at BoroDerby.com.
