RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects linked to a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts in residential neighborhoods. The incidents occurred around 3 a.m. Wednesday in areas off Manchester Pike, between Joe B. Jackson Parkway and Cedar Grove Road, according to Detective Jesse Gammel.
Surveillance footage from Stratus Drive recorded at 3:02 a.m. captured two suspects—both described as Black men driving a silver or light-colored car. Authorities believe they are also responsible for several other burglaries reported last week near Bradyville Pike and Manchester Highway.
Investigators say the suspects appear to be targeting firearms left inside vehicles. Several weapons have been reported stolen during the break-ins, raising concerns that they could be used in future crimes.
“The Sheriff’s Office reminds gun owners to store their firearms inside a secure, preferably locked area of your home,” Gammel said. “Vehicles are not considered a safe place to store weapons.”
Authorities warn that criminals are aware that some gun owners leave firearms in their vehicles overnight, making them easy targets. Stolen weapons are often used in violent crimes, including homicides and aggravated assaults across Middle Tennessee.
