What began as a small class project at Cason Lane Elementary School recently ballooned into a huge difference maker for hungry people in Rutherford County. Courtney Brown's third grade class spearheaded a food drive that saw more than 22-hundred items donated. They wrapped up the project on December 12th.
Brown told Murfreesboro Post writer Monte Hale, Jr., it started when her calss was reading a story where students worked on different community projects. She says they liked the idea of that and decided to do a food drive. The food drive benefitted the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
