On Monday (7/29/2019) night around 6:30, reports of a vehicle in Percy Priest Lake took crews from Rutherford County Fire Special Ops to Bryants Grove boat ramp near Long Hunter's State Park on the Rutherford-Davidson county line.
The vehicle could easily be seen in the water, and divers determined there was no one inside the SUV. In fact, they also surfaced with news that a boat trailer was also attached.
Due to the depth of the vehicle's immersion, Scuba Diving was required to hook the vehicle to a tow truck.Philip Nichols was the primary diver who linked the SUV to the tow truck. Other Special Ops divers completed their tasks.
Adam Rose acted as safety diver. Help from the shoreline was also needed in this tricky recovery. Jacob Hill, Randall Potts and Dallas McLemore were the techs who communicated with the divers during the recovery operation. The vehicle and trailer were safely removed from the lake.
